Isn’t summertime the best? Hot weather, outside all day long, and best of all – grilling! Seriously I think that is one of the best parts of summer, the lack of dishes when I BBQ supper makes me happy. Plus, it’s fast and easy and anyone can do it.
And that leaves more time for lounging around outside enjoying that summer sun that is going to be gone far too fast.
These honey lime grilled pork chops were one of the easiest meals I have ever made. The pork chops need to marinate for a few hours, but as long as you remember to whisk that together sometime in the early afternoon, supper is ready in under 15 minutes. Well, the grilled pork chops are. I suppose you might want some kind of a side dish or two to go with them.
But that’s the easy part. Throw some veggies on the BBQ along with the pork chops, or whip up a salad and some rice or quinoa and you’re good to go. Or make it real simple and slice up a loaf of bread. Or make biscuits! Yes, do that. Perfect with pork chops. That’s definitely what I should have done. I went with quinoa and asparagus though which was also perfect.
Clearly the meat is the most important part of the meal around here. And these honey lime grilled pork chops were perfect. Tender and juicy and grilled to perfection. For a quick and easy meal in the summer it doesn’t get any better than that.
Because we need to be outside in the sun. Like I said, grilling is one of the best parts of summer!

- 6-8 pork chops
- 6 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoon honey
- 2 limes
- 4 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- In a large serving dish, whisk together the olive oil, honey, juice of both limes, garlic, salt and basil. Place the pork chops in the marinade, turning each several times so that they are completely coated. Cover the dish tightly and place in the refrigerator for 4-6 hours to marinate.
- Preheat the BBQ to medium heat (about 400 degrees F). Grill the pork chops for 10-15 minutes until done. For chops that are ¾” or thinner, they will take 4-5 minutes per side, if they’re thicker then ¾” they will take 7-8 minutes per side. Mine were about ¾ inches thick and took 10 minutes to cook. Try not to overcook them or they will be dry.
