These flourless peanut butter brownies taste rich and fudgy, while still being on the healthier side, with no refined flour or sugar in them!

As far as brownies go, these are not your typical rich and decadent brownie. These flourless peanut butter brownies are actually on the healthier side. For brownies.

There’s still plenty of chocolate here, but there is no refined flour or sugar added to these brownies. Instead they are made with peanut butter and are sweetened with honey.

So they aren’t overly sweet and decadent. Don’t expect a rich, decadent, so sweet you can barely finish it brownie when you make these. They’re super tasty and chocolatey, but are not overly sweet.

They do make the perfect snack though. Plenty of chocolate without an overload of sugar. We loved these flourless peanut butter brownies for a snack!

What are flourless brownies made of?

Most flourless brownies have butter, sugar, melted chocolate, eggs, and cocoa powder. These flourless brownies use peanut butter instead of butter, and honey instead of sugar.

Because of these changes, these brownies won’t be as rich and decadent as a flourless brownie made with butter and sugar. But they are still full of chocolate flavour, and are a healthier alternative to a brownie made with butter and granulated sugar.

And as long as you are careful not to over bake these healthier brownies, they will still have a nice fudgy texture. They do tend to dry out if over baked though.

Can you freeze brownies?

Yes, brownies freeze very well. Let them cool completely, and slice them into individual bars. Then freeze them in an airtight container, or plastic bag.

They will keep well in the freezer for up to 3 months.

How to make Flourless Peanut Butter Brownies:

  • These brownies stir up quickly in one bowl with a whisk. No need for any special equipment here.
  • I like to melt the chocolate in the microwave, at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds. If you prefer to use a double boiler to melt your chocolate that will work fine too.
  • Don’t over bake these brownies or they will be dry. A toothpick inserted in the centre of the brownies should come out with a few moist crumbs on it, but no wet batter.
  • These brownies are best kept in an airtight container in the fridge and enjoyed cold.
